A Gem of Nature and Sustainability in Trivero, Italy
Oasi Zegna is a natural park located in Trivero, in the province of Biella, Piedmont. Founded in the 1930s by renowned textile entrepreneur Ermenegildo Zegna, it represents a fascinating example of the interplay between environment, community, and industrial activity. This oasis offers stunning landscapes, unique outdoor experiences, and a strong tradition of sustainability and territory enhancement.
History and Philosophy
Oasi Zegna began as a project for environmental regeneration: Ermenegildo Zegna wanted to create a better environment for his employees and the Trivero community, starting with reforestation and the construction of infrastructures like roads, schools, and health facilities. His idea was to create a "green space" accessible to all, blending beauty and utility in a pioneering way. This vision led to the planting of thousands of trees and the creation of a park that today spans over 100 square kilometers.
Now managed by the Zegna Foundation, the oasis continues its original mission: to balance the natural environment with the sustainable development of the community
What Oasi Zegna Offers
1. TRAILS AND TREKKING
Oasi Zegna offers over 20 marked trails of varying difficulty, ideal for trekking, trail running, and Nordic walking. Among the most beloved routes are the Art Trail, which showcases outdoor artwork and temporary installations, and the Rhododendron Trail, especially stunning in spring when the rhododendrons are in bloom.

The Bielmonte ski area, located within the Oasis, is perfect for those who love alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. With well-maintained slopes and lifts, Bielmonte attracts families and experienced skiers alike. All activities are guided by a philosophy that emphasizes respect for nature and sustainability.
3. Environmental Education

The Nature House offers interactive experiences to better understand the flora, fauna, and geology of the Biellese Alps, while workshops and educational activities promote respect for the environment.
4. Wellness and Relaxation
Another attraction is the area dedicated to relaxation and well-being. Visitors can enjoy yoga, meditation, and forest bathing—a Japanese practice of immersion in nature that is gaining popularity for its physical and mental health benefits.
Flora and Fauna
Thanks to the reforestation efforts that began in the 1930s, Oasi Zegna has become a rich and varied ecosystem. The landscape is home to larch, fir, rhododendrons, and many other native species, along with various animals such as deer, roe deer, foxes, and golden eagles. In spring and autumn, the flora offers a stunning display of colors, attracting many visitors and nature photography enthusiasts.
Sustainability and Innovation Projects
Respect for nature is one of Oasi Zegna's core values. The Zegna Foundation continually promotes initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including projects to protect local species and environmental restoration activities. Recently, the Oasis also adopted energy sustainability practices, such as solar panels and rainwater management systems.
Events and Festivals
Throughout the year, Oasi Zegna hosts numerous events to bring the community and tourists closer to the park. Among the most popular are the Rhododendron Festival, which celebrates the spectacular bloom of these flowers, and the Sustainable High Fashion Festival, an event that merges fashion, design, and sustainability, also promoted by the Zegna Foundation.
